Overview
Carraig is a small-batch aged rum distilled in Gaspé from Caribbean molasses and matured slowly on-site. Fermented with patience and crafted with purpose, it blends depth and elegance to honour a powerful story of exile, survival, and enduring human strength.
Named after the Gaelic word for “rock,” Carraig evokes both the rugged coastline and the strength of those who endured it. Each sip is a tribute to memory and place—a spirit rooted in history, made with care, and rich in reverence.
Carricks of Whitehaven memorial
On May 17, 1847, the Carricks of Whitehaven sank off Cap-des-Rosiers while carrying Irish refugees fleeing the Great Famine. Only 48 survived the wreck, their courage etched into the region’s memory. This rum commemorates their journey—marked by suffering, resilience, and the legacy of cultural ties that still shape the Gaspé today.
